Fundraising Success 2017

In 2017, Totties Garden Centre supported both the RSPB and Yorkshire Air Ambulance. We had collection buckets in both the garden shop and cafe and our customers have generously donated to both these charities. We've raised £178.90 for the RSPB and £41.30 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance - Thank you to all those who have donated.

Silver Award – Free From Eating Out Awards 2017

We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a Silver award, in the tea shop and cafe category, at this year’s Free From Eating Out Awards. The awards seek out the best ‘freefrom’ eateries from beach hut cafés to five star restaurants in the UK and then send out their expert judges. Based on the judges’ reports, gold, silver and bronze awards are made to eateries who understood how to cater safely for food allergic people. A month old calf helps Holme Valley Mountain Rescue

He might only be 4 weeks old but a Holmfirth calf is already proving his worth and raising money for a local charity. Rufus, a highland bull, was born at here Totties Garden Centre on 1st February. His mother Morag arrived in October last year and it was suspected she was pregnant. It took 4 months for those suspicions to be confirmed. Owners Sue Brimble and Rob Swinn decided to let their loyal customers name the calf whilst boosting the coffers of Holme Valley Mountain Rescue. New Addition

We got a new addition to our animal family...Morag the Highland cow has come to join the sheep, hens and ducks. She's spending her days in our bottom field & if you look carefully whilst you shop in the garden centre or have lunch in the cafe, you'll spot her. She pretty shy but Rob & Oli are working hard to make her feel at home & get her used to human contact. Gardening Competition Winner

And the winner is...Amanda Beaumont. Earlier this year we launch our very own gardening competition where we asked customers to send us a picture of their colourful spring garden. The prize was £50 worth of vouchers to spend here at Totties Garden Centre. The judges were very impressed with the standard of the entries from the array of different flowers used to the structured planting on show. National Children’s Gardening Week

For the first time we got involved in National Children's Gardening Week. Thanks to our supplier Kings Seeds we held a free seed giveaway and also handed out pots for planting. The focus of the week was to bring children into gardening and gardening to children. Children love growing plants, they love being in the garden but they can be impatient growers, wanting to see instant results. Holmfirth garden centre & church join forces…

Staff & customers from Totties Garden Centre spent the month of December raising money for Action for Children. Donation buckets were dotted around the garden centre, cafe & winter wonderland grotto. Rather than charging an entrance fee to see Santa, visitors were simply asked to help raise money for the charity. Also as part of the fundraising efforts members of Scholes Methodist Choir spent two consecutive Sundays entertaining diners with Christmas carols.
